DNC Chair Tom Perez and Interfaith Council Co-Chair AJ Durrani released the following statement on Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan:

“On behalf of the Democratic Party, we would like to send our warm regards to our Muslim sisters and brothers who are celebrating the end of Ramadan by spending this day in prayer and in the company of their closest families. While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made it harder for Muslims–especially those serving in the frontlines as essential workers–to celebrate one of the main tenets of their faith, we hope that you nevertheless found time for peaceful reflection during the past month. Eid Mubarak!”
