In response to House Republicans giving up for the day despite not electing a speaker of the House, DNC spokesperson Sarafina Chitika released the following statement: 

“As we approach day 16 with no speaker, Jim Jordan and his MAGA colleagues have given up on governing after a long day of getting absolutely nothing done and bickering among themselves. Instead of delivering for the American people, House Republicans are responding to the pressure of a looming government shutdown and conflict in the Middle East by doing what they do best: quitting.”
