Washington, DC – With Lindsey Graham’s announcement that he is running for president, DNC National Press Secretary Holly Shulman released the following statement:
 
“The most telling piece of information from Lindsey Graham’s announcement is just how worried Republicans are about their current crop of disastrous presidential candidates. Instead of scaring people out or the race, the current field is scaring people in.
 
“Unfortunately for the Republican Party, Graham’s policies are most reminiscent of another GOP leader, George W. Bush. Graham has long been a champion of Bush’s failed economic policies, his disastrous foreign policy and his divisive social agenda. As president, he would embrace them again. 

“It is no surprise that Lindsey Graham, as everyone in the field is trying to claim, thinks he offers something unique. But when it comes down to it, he is the same as the rest of the GOP presidential field whose policies would take America backwards.”
