DNC Statement on New Jersey Election Results

| DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement regarding Democrats’ win in New Jersey: “Congratulations to Governor Phil Murphy and all the New Jersey Democrats up and down the ballot who won their races. Over the course of his term, Governor Murphy has led New Jersey forward, ensuring that the Garden State didn’t merely survive a pandemic, but will come out of it stronger and fairer than ever before. It’s no surprise that voters once again rejected Republican extremism, and decided to make Governor Murphy New Jersey’s first Democratic governor to be re-elected in nearly 45 years — they know he’ll lead them forward to invest in clean energy, protect reproductive rights, and put the COVID-19 pandemic firmly behind us. “The DNC was proud to make its largest ever off-year investment in New Jersey this year because we knew the stakes were too high for any voter to sit on the sidelines. One year out from the 2022 midterms, Democrats are not taking a single day off. We will spend the next 12 months working harder than ever to build on our efforts to protect and increase our majorities in the House and Senate.” |
