DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement to mark the beginning of Ramadan:

“For Muslim families everywhere, Ramadan is a special time for prayer, fasting, and reflection. It’s a chance to set goals and make memories with family. In a busy world, Ramadan reminds us to slow down, take a moment to think, and be thankful for what we have.

“So as Muslims around the world and across the nation begin their observance of the blessed month of Ramadan this evening, Democrats extend our heartfelt wishes. We hope this sacred month brings spiritual renewal, hopeful reflection, and devotion through tarawih prayers, fasting, and the reading of the Quran. The Democratic Party remains committed to uplifting and supporting our Muslim American communities. Ramadan Mubarak!”
