In response to Donald Trump’s CNN town hall tonight, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement:

“The American people were just reintroduced, in primetime, to a dangerous, extreme candidate who seeks to undermine democracy and is the frontrunner for the nomination of a party that is increasingly beholden to its most right-wing fringes. While he repeatedly lied, Donald Trump can’t change the facts about his record. He exploded the deficit by gifting corporations and the wealthy tax giveaways, repeatedly tried to cut Medicare and Social Security programs, supported a national abortion ban, incited a violent attack on the Capitol, and showered praise on Vladimir Putin. But when you have the impossible task of trying to tear down President Biden’s historic record of accomplishments for the American people, it’s no surprise Trump resorts to lies to defend his failure of a presidency.”
