DNC Statement on Trump’s Vile, Antisemitic Attacks on Jewish Voters
March 19, 2024
In response to Donald Trump claiming any Jewish voter who votes for Democrats “hates their religion” and “should be ashamed of themselves,” DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:
“Donald Trump is the one who should be ashamed of himself: He dines with neo-Nazis and white supremists while parroting hateful demagogues on the campaign trail. He even reportedly claimed Hitler ‘did some good things.’ Jewish Americans deserve better than the appalling, offensive attacks Trump continues to launch against the Jewish community.”

Trump: “Any Jewish person who votes for Democrats hates their religion, hates Israel, and should be ashamed of themselves.”
Trump has reportedly said “Hitler did some good things,” frequently praises dictators, and has parroted extreme rhetoric uttered by the likes of Hitler and Mussolini.
CNN: “Trump allegedly reserved some of his most unnerving praise for Hitler, who led Nazi Germany during World War II. … ‘[Trump] said, ‘Well, but Hitler did some good things.’
“Trump’s admiration for Hitler went further than the German leader’s economic policies, according to Kelly. Trump also expressed admiration for Hitler’s hold on senior Nazi officers. Trump lamented that Hitler, as Kelly recounted, maintained his senior staff’s ‘loyalty,’ while Trump himself often did not.”
Washington Post: “Trump calls political enemies ‘vermin,’ echoing dictators Hitler, Mussolini”
Axios: “Why it matters: Some historians have compared Trump’s dehumanizing language — including his claim that undocumented immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’ — to the rhetoric of fascist dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.”
Trump has a yearslong history of embracing antisemitism.
CNN: “Trump uses anti-Semitic tropes to again criticize Jewish Americans”
“Former President Donald Trump, in a newly released interview, claimed that Jewish Americans ‘either don’t like Israel or don’t care about Israel,’ while also suggesting that evangelical Christians ‘love Israel more than the Jews in this country.’”
“Trump’s comments are the latest in a series of controversial remarks he has been known to make about Jewish Americans. During his first campaign for president, Trump delivered a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition that was rife with anti-Semitic stereotypes. More recently, he told conservative radio host Ari Hoffman that ‘Israel literally owned Congress…10 years ago, 15 years ago… and today it’s almost the opposite.’”

Trump kicked off his 2024 campaign by rubbing shoulders with white nationalist and antisemite Nick Fuentes – and Trump has since doubled down on his decision to dine with Fuentes, refusing to disavow Fuentes’ hate-filled stances.
CNN: “Trump hosted Holocaust denier at Mar-a-Lago estate during visit with Kanye West, a week after announcing 2024 run”
Axios: “Former President Trump dined and conversed with white nationalist Nick Fuentes and rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Tuesday night, according to two sources familiar with the matter. … Fuentes, who frequently promotes racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, had been spotted with Ye at Mar-a-Lago, but reports erroneously suggested he did not have dinner with the former president.”
The Guardian: “Donald Trump repeatedly refused to disavow the outspoken antisemite and white supremacist Nick Fuentes after they spoke over dinner at his Mar-a-Lago resort. … Trump ultimately made clear that he fundamentally did not want to criticise Fuentes.”
