BATTLEGROUND OHIO (OH-IO!). ATLANTA: “WE’VE GOT NEXT.” From Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms: “There is no denying that Georgia is poised as a swing state and will play an important role in the upcoming election…With people of color being the cornerstone of the Democratic Party, Atlanta remains set to provide a large portion of votes for our eventual nominee.””
-
“In late September, around two dozen Latino voters—along with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez —gathered at the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians union in East Las Vegas, where the Nevada State Democratic Party held its first-ever Spanish-language caucus training. Campaigns have done such training in Spanish on how to participate or volunteer during the caucus in the past, but the state party hasn’t.”
-
“The DNC is working with other state parties, too, and organized what is known as Cafecito con Politics gatherings with Latino and state-party leadership along with young Latinos in Miami, Phoenix and Houston.”
-
“The national party also plans to build on Mujeres Mobilize, a program launched in the 2018 cycle focusing on getting out the vote among Latinas. It held the first primary debates in Miami, where several candidates showed off their Spanish skills.”
-
“Some data show Democrats have more to gain from turning out Latino voters. A September poll from Univision found 73% of Latinos said they plan to vote for the Democratic nominee in the general election next year, whereas 16% planned to vote for President Trump, and 11% were undecided.”
TEXAS DEMOCRATS BLAST TRUMP IN DALLAS. Trump went to the Lone Star State on Thursday, and Texas Democrats were on the ground holding him accountable for his broken promises. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, State Representative Ramon Romero, State Representative Rhetta Bowers, State Representative Jessica González, and more Texas Democrats held a press conference talking about Trump’s disastrous economic policies and Rep. Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released this video highlighting his failure to protect hard-working Texans, provide affordable and accessible healthcare, and forcing Texans to pay for his border wall.
