Donald Trump Has Lost the Plot: Trump Hires New Ballroom Architect While His Economy Falters

Donald Trump’s priorities are clear as day: Yesterday, Trump hired a new architect for his lavish $350 million ballroom after disagreements with the first architect — meanwhile, Americans are grappling with skyrocketing prices, a stagnant job market, and devastating cuts to healthcare. Billionaires are bankrolling the ballroom construction, and Trump is busy finding even more ways to return the favor. It’s no wonder his approval rating has taken a nosedive in recent weeks, with voters increasingly disapproving of Trump’s handling of the economy and his failure to tackle their most important issues.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Donald Trump is done doing his job. While he obsesses over construction plans for his gilded ballroom, his economy is in tatters — and working families are paying the price. Everyday Americans are being crushed under high prices and mass layoffs while they brace for skyrocketing health care premiums — all driven by Trump’s disastrous policies. Instead of fixing the mess he’s made, Trump is busy cozying up to his billionaire buddies. Because in Trump’s America, the rich get richer — and everyone else gets stuck with the bill.”

Despite promising to “lower costs on Day One,” Trump’s economic policies have done the opposite — prices are soaring, and 1.17 million jobs have been cut so far this year. He also promised “a manufacturing renaissance,” yet blue-collar jobs are collapsing. And according to the November S&P Global PMI report, “the health of the US manufacturing sector gets more worrying the more you scratch under the surface.” The result is Trump’s economy — leaving everyday Americans behind while billionaires get ahead.
