Donald Trump Puts “America Second,” Bails Out Argentinian Economy, While Ignoring American Working Families and Struggling Farmers

After spending his campaign promising to lower costs, Donald Trump and his Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are instead choosing to bail out Argentina’s economy to the tune of $20 billion while American families and farmers bear the brunt of his disastrous economic policies.

Trump is once again choosing his buddies abroad instead of helping the millions of working families who are about to see their health care costs skyrocket amid rampant inflation and farmers sinking under the weight of his trade war. To rub salt in the wound, Trump is knowingly bailing out Argentina while they screw over American farmers by selling soybean cargoes to China amid China’s boycott of U.S.-grown soybeans during Trump’s ongoing trade standoff.

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s new slogan is ‘America Second.’ Trump would rather bail out a foreign economy than focus on bringing down skyrocketing costs for food, housing, electricity, and health care for Americans. To add insult to injury, the country Trump is bailing out is actively screwing over our farmers as they face a crisis. Trump has shown time and again that he cares more about helping his buddies than standing up for families. Every American who cast a ballot for Trump last year should ask themselves if they voted for foreign bailouts or for a better economy here at home.”
