Trump repeatedly praised China for their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donald Trump: “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Donald Trump: “Well, I think China is very, you know, professionally run, in the sense that they have everything under control.”

President Biden and Democrats increased our competitiveness with China and passed the CHIPS and Science Act — strengthening American supply chains — despite 187 House Republicans and 32 Senate Republicans voting against the bill.

Washington Post: “[The CHIPS Act will] provide $52 billion in subsidies to domestic semiconductor manufacturers, as well as invest billions in science and technology innovation, in a bid to strengthen the United States’ competitiveness and self-reliance in what is seen as a keystone industry for economic and national security.”

CNBC: “Republican leaders urged Congress to vote against the Chips and Science Act after Senate Democrats Chuck Schumer and Joe Manchin revealed that they have struck a deal on a sweeping reconciliation bill.”
