Washington, DC – DNC national press secretary Adrienne Watson released the statement below in response to the Trumpcare mark ups:
 
“What the Trump tainted Republican leadership is doing to silence House members opposed to taking health care away from millions is not what we expect in a democracy.  The committee chairmen are acting more like dictators than  public servants, breaking with standard practice to jam this gigantic bill through before anyone has time to figure out how many millions of Americans will get the rug pulled out from underneath them.
 
“The reason is clear: the White House and its lapdogs on Capitol Hill are petrified at what the Republican-led Congressional Budget Office will expose about how many millions will lose health care and how much it will cost before lawmakers are forced to take their first votes.”
