HYPOCRISY ALERT: Ohio Governor Touts Police Funding He Opposed

Today, Governor Mike DeWine’s campaign launched his first reelection ad where he claims he “increased funding for law enforcement.”

The problem with DeWine’s ad? He left out the part where every single Ohio Republican member of Congress voted against the American Rescue Plan and DeWine himself said he probably wouldn’t have voted for the federal coronavirus stimulus package.

DeWine would be better served if he thanked President Biden and Democrats for funding the police, despite DeWine and Republicans’ opposition:

Cleveland.com: “[The ad] references his decision to use $250 million in Democratic-passed federal coronavirus relief money to provide grants to police and other first responders.”
