ICYMI: BET Hip Hop Awards Features First-of-its-Kind ‘I Will Vote’ Partnership, Driving Viewers to DNC Voter Information Site
October 16, 2024
Last night during the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, IWillVote.com was on full display with a first-of-its-kind feature throughout the event to urge attendees and viewers to make a plan to vote in the November election. IWillVote.com directs voters to the DNC’s up-to-date national coverage of polling places and voter education information all in one place.
“With the election just a few weeks away, Democrats are meeting Black voters where they are with the information they need to make sure they know when, where, and how to vote,” said Brencia Berry, DNC National Political Director. “We know so much is on the line for Black voters this November and we have the power to decide this election. The ‘I Will Vote’ activation at BET’s Hip Hop Awards is just one way Democrats are getting information to Black voters, delivered by trusted messengers through creative tactics, to break through the noise.”
For over 40 years, BET has been a staple in Black households, connecting the Black community through an ecosystem of interconnected platforms across TV, streaming, digital, studios, and live events. The DNC feature during the BET Hip Hop Awards is the first time IWillVote.com has appeared on the network in this capacity.

The DNC’s IWillVote.com was featured throughout the entire program for both attendees in person and viewers at home.
Attendees at the award show were able to access an I Will Vote lounge ahead of the show, where they could take pictures in front of a step and repeat to record messages about why voting is important to them and chat with BET red carpet hosts Gia Peppers and Dr. Ray Cunningham.
Viewers at home saw IWillVote.com weaved throughout the two hour program, with QR Codes featured on the bottom of the screen and celebrities like host Fat Joe plugging the importance of voting.
Later in the show, Rep. Steven Horsford, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, spoke to viewers about the importance of “electing people to office who respect us, and have real ideas to make our lives better.”
