ICYMI: DNC Chair, Local Democrats Denounce Trump’s Broken Health Care Promises to AAPI Community

As Trump and Republicans try to take down the entire ACA, Michiganders slam Trump’s broken promise to make health care more affordable

DNC Chair Tom Perez joined local Democrats and community leaders in metro Detroit to highlight Donald Trump’s broken promises on health care to the AAPI community, including the proposed cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security programs included in his FY2021 budget. As reported this morning, the Supreme Court will hear a Trump-backed lawsuit to overturn the entire Affordable Care Act, Texas v. Azar.

  • “‘People truly are struggling to make decisions about how to pay for prescription drugs or how to make sure they have food on the table,’ said Lavora Barnes, chairwoman of the Michigan Democratic Party.”

  • “The president, she said, ‘will continue to go after the ACA. It’s a danger for our people, it’s a danger for our community.’”
