ICYMI: DNC Chair Travels to Florida to Mobilize Voters Ahead of Special Elections
March 31, 2025
This weekend, DNC Chair Ken Martin traveled to Florida to be on the ground and mobilize voters for Florida’s special elections tomorrow, April 1, because candidates Josh Weil (FL-06) and Gay Valimont (FL-01) will fight for Florida’s working families.
The country is seeing Democratic momentum in special elections across the country and Republicans are scared. Since the start of the year Democrats have overperformed in 13 out of 14 special elections.
See the coverage below:
On Broadcast:
Chair Martin on MSNBC’s All in with Chris Hayes: “I’m here in Florida right now. I’m going to be canvassing this weekend in those two Florida special elections. And yes, they are ruby red districts but we’ve already seen positive movement in our direction and if we continue to work and organize we can win anywhere. … The fact that Donald Trump is talking about this race is astounding. This is a race he won by thirty some odd points as he mentioned. The Republicans should win this easily, but they’re clearly running scared right now. We know that we are seeing momentum in this race. The fact is that they could very well lose one or both of these races next Tuesday. … Democrats are energized, Republicans are demoralized and independent voters are swinging our way because they are pissed off at Donald Trump and Elon Musk.”
