Yesterday, the DNC kicked off its first-ever August congressional recess “Build Back Better” bus tour with stops in Alexandria and Newport News, Virginia. During the stops, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison was joined by Terry McAuliffe, Mark Herring, Hala Ayala and local leaders from across the commonwealth, who highlighted how President Biden and Democrats are delivering for the American people with the creation of more than four million new jobs, tax cuts for middle-class families, and lower health care costs.

The Democratic National Committee launched a “Build Back Better” bus tour in Alexandria on Thursday morning.
The bus tour will make the trip across half of the country to showcase Biden’s recent legislation works and the party’s agenda during the August recess in Capitol Hill. The tour is also hoping to lure more votes ahead of the 2022 midterm election.
“I am so excited to kick off our ‘ Build Back Better’ tour with all of you,” said Jaime Harrison, the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. “In the next couple of weeks, we are going to cross the country, and we are talking directly to the American about the direct result that democrats deliver when we are in the office.”

Throughout the bus tour, which will make stops in more than 10 states nationwide, Harrison will be joined by governors, mayors and members of Congress to tell voters what Democrats have delivered so far under the Biden administration.
“We’re going across the country … making sure that we put out the message and letting people know whether or not their representative actually delivered,” Harrison told ABC News, mentioning future stops to North Carolina and South Carolina, his home state where he broke fundraising records in his unsuccessful bid against Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham last year.

9&10 News: DNC Kicks Off Build Back Better Tour After Legislative Wins
The Democratic National Committee will kick off their Build Back Better bus tour on Thursday with a stop in Virginia.
The event will feature former state governor Terry McAuliffe, who is running for a second term.
The tour will make ten stops.
Several members of Congress, governors and mayors will make appearances.
The goal of the tour is to highlight recent legislative victories, including the Senate passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the budget framework. |
