ICYMI: Eileen Higgins Has Major Support, Momentum Ahead of Tuesday’s Miami Mayoral Election

Ahead of Election Day tomorrow, Senator Ruben Gallego and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg threw their support behind Eileen Higgins in her bid to flip Miami’s mayoral seat. Higgins is exactly what Miami families deserve — a leader who will fight to lower costs and improve the lives of working families.

Last month, the DNC announced a bilingual organizing blitz to support GOTV efforts and turn out Miami voters for Higgins.

Take a look at some of the coverage:

[Tess Riski, 12/5/25]

“Pete Buttigieg, the former U.S. Secretary of Transportation during the Biden administration, has endorsed Eileen Higgins for Miami mayor ahead of a Dec. 9 runoff election that’s become unusually partisan.

“‘I believe deeply in the importance of local leadership, especially right now, and Eileen has spent years showing up for this community,’ Buttigieg said in a video posted to Higgins’ Instagram on Friday. ‘She has fought for more affordable housing, for better transit and for safer neighborhoods. She listens, she works hard and she delivers, and that’s exactly what Miami needs right now.’”

Ruben Gallego of Arizona joined her Sunday for early voting stops and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is scheduled to appear at a rally for her Monday.”
