IN THE STATES: Democrats Hold Town Halls as Republicans Refuse to Face Their Constituents, Mobilize Voters Ahead of Upcoming Special Elections

The DNC, DCCC, and ASDC are uniting to hold vulnerable Republican members of Congress accountable for their refusal to face their constituents and answer for their votes with a series of town halls. The “People’s Town Hall” blitz will lay out the contrast between Republicans who continue to put billionaires above working people and Democrats who show up for working families, especially when Republicans won’t.

Accompanying the town hall blitz, the DNC launched a new billboard campaign in competitive Republican-held House districts across the country, calling out vulnerable House Republicans for hiding from their constituents after voting to rip away their health care access. The billboards feature a phone number to encourage constituents to call their representative and demand town halls.

On Thursday, DNC Chair Ken Martin traveled to PA-07, alongside Rep. Jamie Raskin, former Rep. Susan Wild, and other health care advocates to host a “People’s Town Hall,” calling out Rep. Mackenzie for voting to gut Medicaid and then running away from his constituents.

Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race is heating up as Elon Musk’s political action committee pours millions into the race in an effort to elect conservative candidate Brad Schimel. Schimel – who supports an abortion ban from 1849 and stated Wisconsin’s liberal women justices were “driven by their emotions” – would be a rubber stamp on the Trump-Musk agenda.

The DNC is fighting back against Republican extremists who want to dismantle government and buy democracy – announcing two groundbreaking investments in Wisconsin and Florida’s Democratic coordinated campaigns this week ahead of special elections on April 1. In Wisconsin, the investment will go toward on the ground operations, including organizing, peer-to-peer texting, and mobilizing thousands of volunteers. In Florida, the DNC is providing two organizers to turbocharge the grassroots organizing effort on the ground and support voter protection.
