IN THE STATES: With Less Than A Week Until Election Day, Dems Paint Clear Contrast Between Trump’s Chaos And Harris’ New Way Forward

Today, the DNC hosted a press call featuring Rep. Maxwell Frost (FL-10), Co-Founder and President of Leaders We Deserve and Co-Founder and Board Member of March For Our Lives David Hogg, Reproductive Rights Advocate and Digital Strategist Deja Foxx, and University of Michigan Basketball player Will Tschetter, as they called out the dangers a second Donald Trump presidency would pose for young people in the United States. The press call highlighted that a second Trump term would put the fundamental freedoms of young Americans at risk and roll back the progress Democrats have made to fight the climate crisis, put an end to gun violence, and build an opportunity economy for all Americans.

With less than a week to go before Election Day, the DNC launched a new ad campaign blanketing 25 battleground newspapers with its closing message to voters: Trump is unhinged, unstable, and unfit to lead this country. The full-page ads were strategically placed in small-size, suburban newspapers in an effort to communicate the power voters have to stop Trump’s selfish pursuit of power and chart a New Way Forward with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The ads emphasize the consequences of Trump and his Project 2025 allies’ crusade against LGBTQ+ rights and encourage LGBTQ+ voters to take control of their hard-earned freedom and reject MAGA Republicans’ anti-equality agenda by making their voices heard at the election booth.

As Election Day approaches, the stakes for hardworking Americans couldn’t be higher. The DNC is making sure voters understand that Vice President Harris and Democrats are fighting for lower costs through ads placed in hundreds of gas stations and convenience stores across the Midwest. The ad campaign reaches voters in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska to highlight Trump’s disastrous economic agenda that would skyrocket costs and derail everyday life for hardworking Americans.

In response to a comedian calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, Democrats and voters swiftly criticized the hateful and racist rhetoric, casting a split screen between Trump and MAGA extremists’ record of disparaging Puerto Rico and Vice President Harris’ plan to invest in Puerto Rico, foster economic growth, and create opportunities for the Puerto Rican community. From Latino celebrities throwing their support behind the Harris-Walz ticket to the DNC unveiling billboards denouncing the comment in Allentown, PA – an area notable for its large Puerto Rican population – it couldn’t be more clear that there’s only one candidate on the ballot fighting for Puerto Ricans and every Latino community.
