Today, during an interview with Breitbart, JD Vance was asked to respond to Americans’ concerns about the economy, and Vance told struggling everyday Americans to have “a little bit of patience.” 

Donald Trump and Vance’s economy has been a disaster for working families. To survive Trump’s reckless trade war, businesses have jacked up their prices by an average of 12% — meaning that costs for everyday Americans have skyrocketed — and just today, the jobs report showed that the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.4% in another sign of a shaky job market. Now, one in four households is living paycheck to paycheck. 

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement: 

“Is this guy serious? Donald Trump and JD Vance have taken a wrecking ball to the economy — and now they’re telling Americans to be patient? Working families don’t have that luxury. Their rent and utility bills are due. Food needs to be put on the table. Prescriptions can’t be skipped. As everyday Americans shoulder skyrocketing prices, mass layoffs, and disappearing jobs — and are told to tough it out — Trump and Vance’s wealthy donors are cashing in on massive tax cuts. It’s a slap in the face to everyday Americans struggling to make ends meet.”
