Kevin McCarthy Has A MAGA Republican Problem

As MAGA extremist candidates gain momentum in today’s Republican Party, Kevin McCarthy keeps reminding voters he has completely surrendered to the most extreme members of his own party and refuses to hold them accountable for their dangerous views. Now, Republicans across the country pushing extreme abortion views are being welcomed with open arms by GOP leaders.

Time and again, Kevin McCarthy has kowtowed to the most extreme members of his caucus resulting in the proliferation of dangerous claims from Republican lawmakers and candidates:

Axios: “Yesli Vega, the Republican nominee running against Democrat Abigail Spanberger for Congress, downplayed the possibility of becoming pregnant as a result of rape when asked about her stance on abortion at a campaign stop last month, according to audio obtained by Axios.”

The Denver Post: “Lauren Boebert told congregation she’s ‘tired of this separation of church and state junk’”

Axios: “Greene, for example, has long gloated she’s immune to punishment by McCarthy. That’s been true even after she and Gosar appeared at a gathering of white nationalists hosted by outspoken Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.”

Kevin McCarthy has fully lost control of his caucus and he has no one to blame but himself:

Axios: “Far-right, controversial candidates create new headaches for McCarthy”

Axios: “Once in office, it will be hard for McCarthy to control his far-right freshmen — just as he’s faced difficulty wrangling Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), who see themselves as ‘untouchable.’”

Axios: “The GOP’s untouchables: Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar”
