LOCAL HEADLINES: Biden Lowers Internet Costs

Yesterday, as the latest step in the Biden-Harris administration’s laser-focus on lowering costs for Americans, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced new steps to reduce high-speed internet costs for millions of Americans. 

As part of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the president and vice president created the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to cut the price of high-speed internet to $30 per month for millions of families. About 48 million families are eligible for the program—nearly 40% of households. The Biden-Harris administration revealed yesterday that they secured commitments from 20 internet providers to cut prices and increase speeds for millions of households enrolled in ACP.
