Today’s MAGA Hot Mic moment comes from Maine GOP State Rep. Peter Lyford. 

Peter Lyford put his GOP MAGA extremism on full display — bragging about his anti-choice record and the fact that he opposes abortions even with NO exceptions including when a mother’s life is in danger.  

Peter Lyford: “I don’t believe in abortion at all. I always have felt that nobody can call it — that the doctor may say, ‘well, I think the mother’s going to die.’ I believe there will always be somebody there to take care of the child. So, I am against abortion and I have always voted that way.”

Maine Beacon: “Rep. Peter Lyford, the Republican candidate for a vacant seat in Maine Senate District 10, saying he opposes abortion even in cases when the pregnant person’s life is in danger.”

Peter Lyford and other Republicans keep making clear they want to go further than overturning Roe and want to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest, or to protect the life of the mother.
