MAGA Hot Mic: Mehmet Oz

Today’s MAGA Hot Mic honor falls on none other than Pennsylvania GOP Senate nominee Mehmet Oz — who came out and said he wants politicians to make reproductive health care decisions for women.

That’s right. Mehmet Oz said reproductive health care decisions should be made by “women, doctors, [and] local political leaders.”

Mehmet Oz: “I want women, doctors, local political leaders, letting the democracy that’s always allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward so states can decide for themselves.”

Business Insider: “Mehmet Oz says abortion should be decided between ‘women, doctors, local political leaders’ during debate with John Fetterman.”

WATCH:

Oz isn’t even trying to hide it anymore. This is all coming from the same individual who touts himself as “100% pro-life.” He was even caught on tape saying abortion at any stage is “still murder.” He also celebrated the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

POLITICO: “His campaign website says he is ‘100% pro-life.’ And audio last week, first published by The Daily Beast, spurred more questions about Oz’s beliefs. In the recording from a tele-town hall held a week before the Republican primary in May, Oz said he believed ‘life starts at conception.’”

NBC News: “Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz said in May that abortion at any stage of pregnancy is ‘still murder’ because he believes that life begins at conception, according to newly obtained audio.”

Make no mistake: Reproductive health care decisions should be decided between a woman and her doctor – not government officials. Mehmet Oz and the Republican Party continue to say the quiet part out loud – they are more concerned with pushing their extreme, anti-choice agenda than the reproductive health of Americans. With less than two weeks until the midterm elections it is more clear than ever what is at stake. Protecting the freedom to choose is on the ballot in November.
