Republicans keep blowing the door wide open as Mitch McConnell tries to excuse, and Kevin McCarthy tries to ignore the pro-Putin, anti-Ukraine elements in their party. Unfortunately for McConnell, it’s hard to characterize the likes of party leader Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene as simply “lonely voices,” and for Kevin McCarthy, his promise to elevate Marjorie Taylor Greene looks worse and worse.

While McConnell is on clean up duty, Marjorie Taylor Greene is running through the mud and making it clear some Republicans are defending Putin in the face of Russia’s attack on Ukraine: 

Heartland Signal: “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blames Ukraine for being invaded: ‘You see Ukraine just kept poking the bear, poking the bear, which is Russia, and Russia invaded. And the hard truth is … there is no win for Ukraine here. Russia is being very successful in their invasion.’”
