McConnell Promises to Oppose Lower Drug Costs For Americans

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell just said he would oppose efforts to lower prescription drug prices for millions of Americans. McConnell has made clear that he would rather side with Big Pharma than lower costs for the American people.

In fact, McConnell was so opposed to making prescription drugs more affordable that he promised to hold American jobs hostage to block the prescription drug pricing bill.

The GOP has no plan to lower health care costs at all: Last year, every single Republican in Congress voted against the American Rescue Plan — which boosted ACA subsidies and provided more help for Americans to afford their health care premiums.

Don’t believe us? Just take it from Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, who admitted that Republicans are simply not interested in lowering costs for families.

POLITICO: “Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who has previously negotiated a plan to lower prescription drug costs with Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), admitted during a committee hearing it would likely be hard to pass if his own party regained control of Congress. He called on Democrats to pass it now.”

Time and again, McConnell and his Republican colleagues have opposed legislation that would bring down costs for American families. Voters know better than to support GOP extremists like McConnell.
