Mike Pence Failed Iowans. Period.
April 22, 2022
Tomorrow, Mike Pence will make Iowa the latest stop in his rehabilitation tour as he attends the Story County Lincoln Highway Dinner and campaigns for Rep. Randy Feenstra. DNC spokesperson Ammar Moussa released the following statement in response:
“Mike Pence can spend every day from now until eternity trying to rewrite history, but it won’t erase his disastrous record in the Trump-Pence administration. Pence stood shoulder to shoulder with Trump as he implemented reckless trade policies that left thousands of farmers behind, failed to deliver an infrastructure deal, and did nothing to lower drug prices. The contrast between these abject failures and the successes of the Biden-Harris administration couldn’t be more stark – and Iowans will see right through Pence’s desperate spin.”
After Mike Pence and Donald Trump spent YEARS failing to get “Infrastructure Week” and rural broadband done, it was Joe Biden who delivered the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law less than one year after taking office.

The reckless trade policies pursued by the Trump-Pence administration left thousands of Iowa farmers behind, leading far too many to declare bankruptcy.
CNN: “US farm bankruptcies were up 20% in 2019, despite the billions of dollars in aid President Donald Trump has paid to farmers hurt by the trade war with China. That’s the highest level since 2011, following the Great Recession, according to court data analyzed by the American Farm Bureau.”
Wall Street Journal: “The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Thursday said it expects farm debt in 2020 to rise to a record $425 billion, up from $415 billion last year. The debt-to-asset ratio for farms remains at its highest point in more than 15 years, the USDA said, and farm bankruptcies jumped 24% last year.”

Not only did the Trump-Pence administration wage a years-long assault on Americans’ health care, but Iowa’s own Chuck Grassley admitted that Republicans would do NOTHING to address prescription drug prices if they control Washington.
