NEW: Mass Layoffs Continue to Surge Under Donald Trump’s Watch
December 3, 2025

The November ADP jobs report released today shows that Donald Trump’s job market is in disrepair amid his disastrous trade war. A net of 32,000 jobs were lost last month, the most since March 2023. Small businesses specifically shed a staggering 120,000 jobs, as bankruptcies rose to record levels. And the manufacturing sector took another major hit, losing 18,000 jobs despite Trump’s promises of a “manufacturing renaissance.” Despite this economic disaster Trump has created, one of his top economic advisors told CNBC this morning, “We will have tariffs no matter what going forward.”
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“Donald Trump’s reckless trade war has proven to be nothing short of a disaster for Main Street. As prices on everything from groceries to rent continue to climb, layoffs are mounting, and small businesses are the hardest hit. As jobs disappear and working families stretch their paychecks even further to put food on the table, Trump isn’t batting an eye. Instead of fixing the mess he’s created, Trump is bending over backwards to make sure his billionaire buddies get an extra leg up.”
Businesses are struggling to keep up with Trump’s reckless tariffs, while everyday Americans are getting screwed by higher prices and mass layoffs. Costco became the latest company to sue the Trump administration over his reckless trade war. Tyson Foods just announced layoffs of nearly 5,000 employees in Texas and Nebraska, and Newell Brands is laying off 900 workers and closing several stores.
