Since Day One, Donald Trump has walked back his campaign trail lies about lowering costs to instead focus on implementing his wildly unpopular Project 2025 agenda — and the American people have had enough. Across the political spectrum, Americans are rejecting Trump’s actions, from his dangerous pardons of violent criminals to his efforts to lay off thousands of American workers and shut down critical services, with a majority of Americans disapproving of Trump’s handling of the job and half of Americans questioning if he has the “mental sharpness” for the office. 

It doesn’t get any better for Trump’s shadow president Elon Musk, who is rapidly losing support among the American people. A majority of Americans say Musk (and Trump’s other billionaire friends) are milking the presidency for personal gain and oppose attempts to freeze critical programs for working families. 

Here’s a look at the latest Trump polling:

Today has been the single worst polling day during Trump’s second term as his disastrous handling of the economy and inflation become a critical weakness and his approval rating has fallen consistently underwater:

• Americans are rejecting Trump’s toxic agenda to jack up prices while pardoning violent criminals and shutting down critical departments:
  • 57% say Trump has exceeded his authority since taking office 
  • Half of independents oppose Trump’s early actions across the board 
  • 65% oppose Trump’s plan to shut down the Department of Education 
  • Over 80% do not support Trump’s pardons of violent January 6 insurrectionists 
  • More than 6 in 10 Americans oppose Trump’s national taxes on Canada and Mexico, while 7 in 10 say Trump’s tariff regime will raise prices and a plurality say they will hurt U.S. workers and manufacturers
  • Nearly 6 in 10 Americans oppose Trump’s mass firings while 2 in 3 oppose Trump’s gag rule on health agencies 

• Trump’s approval rating is underwater as his unaffordable economic agenda raises prices for Americans:
  • 53% disapprove of Trump’s handling of the job
    • 4 polls confirm Trump’s approval rating is underwater
    • 62% of Americans find Trump not “honest and trustworthy” 
    • 50% of Americans question whether Trump “has the mental sharpness it takes to effectively serve as president” 
  • Independents’ approval of Trump’s handling of the economy has fallen 13 points to 31% 
  • Trump has earned the lowest approval rating at this point in a term since 1953, excluding his first term — falling 15 points below the historical average for presidents in mid-February 

• Elon Musk is rapidly losing support across the board — even alienating MAGA voters — as Americans worry he and Trump’s billionaire backers are profiting off the White House:
  • 58% of respondents say they are concerned Musk will delay Social Security, student aid, and other critical federal programs 
  • 71% agree that the ultra-wealthy have too much influence on the White House while 69% say they are profiting off their White House connections
    • This includes 44% of Americans who “identify with the [MAGA] movement” who also agree Trump’s rich friends are profiting from their White House ties
  • 53% of people oppose DOGE, while 62% rejected Trump’s claim he can fire any federal employee who disagrees with him
