On ACA Anniversary, DNC Launches New Digital Ads in North Carolina Blasting Republicans’ Latest Attack on Americans’ Health Care

On the anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law, the Democratic National Committee is launching a new digital ad campaign in North Carolina blasting Republicans’ latest efforts to raise health care costs. The ads follow Senator Ron Johnson’s recent admission that the ACA should be repealed if Republicans take back power, and highlights what Republican control could mean for North Carolinians’ health care: higher premiums, higher prescription drug prices, and no protections for preexisting conditions.

“When it comes to North Carolinians’ health care, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and the people of the Tar Heel State deserve to know where Republicans stand,” said DNC spokesperson Rhyan Lake. “If Republicans take control, their agenda could mean higher costs for health care and prescription drugs, no more protections for people with preexisting conditions, and thousands of North Carolinians under 26 being kicked off their parents’ health insurance. Democrats meanwhile are protecting and building on the ACA, cutting costs for 670,000 North Carolinians —no thanks to any North Carolina Republicans in Congress.”
