Paging Mitch McConnell…

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell previously said that “If we [Republicans] can’t sell this [the Trump tax law] to the American people, we ought to go into another line of work.”

McConnell, call your office. An internal Republican poll shows Americans know the truth about the Trump tax law and Republicans’ messaging has failed. By a 2-1 margin, Americans believe the Trump tax law benefits big corporations and rich Americans at the expense of middle-class families.

A poll shows the overwhelming majority of Americans know the Trump tax law benefits the wealthy and corporations instead of middle-class families.

Bloomberg: “By a 2-to-1 margin — 61 percent to 30 percent — respondents said the law benefits ‘large corporations and rich Americans’ over ‘middle class families,’ according to the survey, which was completed on Sept. 2 by the GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies and obtained by Bloomberg News.”

The majority of Americans are right. The Trump tax law has done one thing: it's made the rich richer.

New York Magazine: “The Trump Tax Cuts Did One Thing: Give Rich People More Money”

Corporations are using their massive tax breaks to benefit their CEOs and wealthy shareholders, not their workers.

CNN Money: “For the first time in a decade, Corporate America is steering more money into stock buybacks than investing in the future.”

The bottom line is that the Trump tax law is nowhere near what Trump and Republicans promised.

Washington Post: “The Trump tax cuts are a lot like Trump University: nowhere near what he promised for very obvious reasons.”

Republicans have already abandoned running on the unpopular Trump tax law.

Axios: “Using the GOP tax cut as a strategy to win voters died in March, when the special election won by Rep. Conor Lamb (D-Pa.) showed that the issue wasn't working for Republicans.”
