| Today, the Democratic National Committee kicked off an Ice Cream Truck Tour ahead of the Fourth of July holiday with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to celebrate New Jerseyans coming back together after a year of hardship in the face of a once-in-a-century pandemic.
Thanks to the leadership of President Biden, Governor Murphy, and Democrats across New Jersey, nearly five million individuals who live, work, and study in the state have been fully vaccinated, COVID-19 metrics are decisively trending in the right direction, and families are reuniting to celebrate together this summer.
“After a year in which the pandemic disrupted nearly every facet of our lives, President Biden’s American Rescue plan is fueling New Jersey’s comeback and will help us emerge from the pandemic stronger, fairer, and more resilient than ever before,” said Governor Murphy. “With this funding, we’ll get more shots in arms, address learning loss in our educational communities, keep New Jerseyans in their homes, and provide additional relief to small businesses on Main Street. I’m incredibly grateful to President Biden and our congressional delegation for making bold investments in America’s future.”
