REMINDER: Donald Trump’s Deep Ties to the Anti-IVF Movement
August 30, 2024
Donald Trump is trying to cover for his deep ties to the anti-IVF movement. Luckily, we have the receipts:
- Trump keeps bragging about how he “proudly” overturned Roe v. Wade, paving the way for his MAGA minions’ attacks on IVF access across the country.
- Trump’s dangerous Project 2025 agenda includes banning abortion nationwide — with or without Congress — and would threaten IVF access. Just look at his platform.
- Trump’s own running mate JD Vance is an anti-choice extremist who joined almost every single Republican in the Senate to block legislation to protect IVF access.
- Trump cozied up to the Alabama Supreme Court justice who wrote a ruling that threatened IVF access in the state.
- Trump’s Project 2025 allies are laying the groundwork to rip away IVF access.
- 125 of Trump’s MAGA minions in the House co-sponsored the “Life at Conception Act,” which could gut access to IVF.
- Trump appointed several anti-IVF extremists to positions in his administration, including Tom Wildmon, whose anti-choice organization opposed a Mississippi bill to protect IVF.
- Trump’s appointed Sarah Pitlyk — who wrote an amicus brief arguing in favor of legislation that would ban IVF access — to a lifetime appointment on the federal bench. She even made his Supreme Court justice shortlist…
- … before he appointed Amy Coney Barrett, an anti-choice extremist who helped overturn Roe and supported a group that believes in criminalizing IVF.
- Trump has close ties to and praised anti-choice extremist Lila Rose, the Live Action president who said she was “proud” of the Alabama Supreme Court’s anti-IVF ruling.
- Trump’s anti-choice extremism doesn’t stop there, either. He’s said extreme abortion bans that are putting women’s lives at risk are “working very brilliantly,” said he would support states monitoring women’s pregnancies, and said “there has to be some form of punishment [for women who have an abortion].”
