Republicans Are Hiding Their Dangerous Health Care Agenda

When it comes to the issues that matter to voters, Republicans consistently seem to lose their tongue. But we know why — Republicans don’t have a plan to lower costs for the American people. But don’t get it twisted: the GOP does have a health care agenda, and it includes cutting Social Security and Medicare and banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.

Let’s not forget: Just last month, Republicans overwhelmingly voted to strip an insulin cap for millions of Americans from the Inflation Reduction Act.

CBS News: “Senate Republicans block $35 cap on price of insulin from Democratic bill”

Meanwhile, Republicans are on a mission to cut Social Security and Medicare for millions of everyday Americans.

NBC News: “In major Senate and House races across the country, GOP candidates have called for cutting long-term Social Security spending…”

Washington Post: “Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) has suggested that Social Security and Medicare be eliminated as federal entitlement programs…”

Extreme Republicans are also trying to lie about their extreme, anti-abortion records. GOP candidates who previously pushed for draconian abortion bans with no exceptions are now desperately trying to scrub their campaign websites clean of these draconian proposals.

CNN: “When Zach Nunn was asked during a primary debate in May whether ‘all abortions should be illegal in this country,’ the Iowa Republican raised his hand. After Nunn’s Democratic opponent, Rep. Cindy Axne, ran an ad using the video, Nunn published an op-ed where he backed away from his position…”

Make no mistake: Republicans have no plan to lower health care costs — they’re too busy pushing an extreme agenda that would ban abortion and gut Social Security and Medicare. Instead, congressional Republicans have made clear they could actually undo legislation by Democrats to cap prescription drug prices if they take the majority.
