Republicans See McCarthy’s Caucus For What It Is: A Clown Show

After a disastrous week where he was exposed as a liar and a fraud willing to sell out our country to Donald Trump, Kevin McCarthy’s Monday is already off to a rough start. New reporting this morning confirmed Rep. Patrick McHenry won’t run for a spot in House Republican leadership next year, making clear that even Republican lawmakers see McCarthy’s caucus for what it is: a clown show run by MAGA extremists.

This morning, Punchbowl News confirmed Rep. Patrick McHenry will not run for a slot in House Republican leadership next year.

Punchbowl News: “Rep. Patrick McHenry (N.C.), seen as the top candidate for House Republican whip if the GOP takes the majority, will forgo a leadership race and instead plans to run for chair of the House Financial Services Committee.”

Punchbowl News: “McHenry has been vacillating for several months between launching a leadership run or staying at Financial Services … But ultimately, McHenry told associates he found it more appealing to build and pass his own agenda at Financial Services if Republicans win.”

Who could blame Rep. McHenry when Kevin McCarthy has allowed his caucus to become an absolute clown show run by far-right extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene?
