Right-Wing Billionaires Are Trying to Buy Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District
November 19, 2025

Van Epps said he was “honored” to receive out-of-state donations
After failing in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, right-wing billionaires are spending millions of dollars in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District to boost Trump’s extreme candidate Matt Van Epps. The RNC is also being forced to spend six figures in this Trump +22 district.
Republicans are panicking about this race because voters are angry about Trump’s toxic agenda, including his Big Ugly Bill, which kicks 210,000 Tennessee families off their health insurance and puts nine rural hospitals on the brink of closure.

In response, DNC Spokesperson Albert Fujii released the following statement:
“Much like their failed attempts in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, right-wing billionaires are spending millions of dollars to try and boost Matt Van Epps and buy his Congressional seat. Donald Trump and his billionaire donors are panicking in this Trump +22 district because they know Tennessee voters are furious about Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, which kicks over 200,000 Tennesseans off their health insurance and raises costs for families. Unlike her opponent, Democrat Aftyn Behn is not bought and paid for by out-of-state billionaires. Turbocharged by grassroots support, Aftyn Behn is fighting for working families across Tennessee, including protecting their health insurance and lowering their costs.”
