The New Republic: “J.D. Vance Is Getting Debate Help From a Project 2025 Contributor”
“Republican vice presidential pick J.D. Vance has enlisted key allies, including a Project 20a25 contributor, in his debate prep sessions ahead of his first face-off against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on October 1, according to CNN.
“Monica Crowley, who served as the United States assistant secretary of the Treasury for public affairs in the Trump administration, will assist Vance as a mock moderator this week, according to two unnamed sources that spoke with CNN. Crowley is listed in the Project 2025 policy book as a contributor. Project 2025 describes contributors as people who ‘generously volunteered their time and effort to assist the authors in the development and writing of the volume’s 30 chapters.’”

“Vance will reportedly participate in a mock debate later this week, with House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) playing the role of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz and Monica Crowley playing the role of a moderator. Crowley, who previously served as Trump’s assistant secretary for public affairs at the Treasury Department, is a contributor to Project 2025.
“In fact, Crowley gets a special shout-out in the Heritage Foundation’s 920-page policy road map, which bills itself as ‘the conservative movement’s unified effort to be ready for the next conservative Administration to govern at 12:00 noon, January 20, 2025.’
“‘All contributors to this chapter are listed at the front of this volume, but Monica Crowley, Tom Dans, John Berlau, Austin Bramwell, Preston Brashers, Alexandra Harrison Gaiser, Nathan Hitchen, Adam Korzeniewski, and Jonathan Moy deserve special mention,’ reads an author’s note at the bottom of page 710, which marks the end of a chapter on the Treasury Department.”

Crowley, who is playing the role of moderator in mock debates, was also listed as one of the contributors who ‘generously volunteered their time and effort to assist the authors in the development and writing of’ the Project 2025 manifesto, The New Republic noted Tuesday.”
