Trump: “My administration is also moving swiftly to save the U.S. economy from the train wreck of inflation.” 

Trump: “We’ve got the highest poll numbers that I’ve ever had and that any Republican president has ever had.”

CHASER: … even as Americans agree Trump “isn’t doing enough” to fight inflation and his approval ratings are underwater.

CNN: “Nearly two thirds of US adults nationwide, 62%, said they feel [Trump] isn’t doing enough to address inflation.”

Bloomberg: “US consumers’ expectations for long-term inflation rose to the highest rate in three decades on concerns President Donald Trump’s tariffs will translate into higher prices.” 

CNN: “US stock markets fell sharply Friday after an economic report showed American consumers are growing increasingly fearful of price increases and how President Donald Trump’s tariffs could reignite the inflation crisis.”

Washington Post: “Overall, the Post-Ipsos poll finds 45 percent of adults approve of the way Trump is handling his job, while 53 percent disapprove. … 

“On specific areas of responsibility, a majority disapprove of how he is handling the economy (53 percent vs. 45 percent approving) and a similar majority disapprove of how he is managing the federal government (54 percent).”
