SHOT/CHASER: Trump Is Focused on Invading Sovereign Countries and Installing a Billionaire Cabinet — Not Helping Working Americans
January 8, 2025
Donald Trump has spent the last few weeks making wild threats and focusing on anything but what he promised voters he would do on the campaign trail – lowering costs and growing the economy for working families. In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:
“Donald Trump’s pathetic Napoleon complex has left him more focused on invading Greenland than on lowering costs and growing the economy for the American people. While Trump is distracted by bizarre threats against our allies and busy doling out favors to his billionaire Cabinet picks, Democrats are focused on standing up for working families and making sure they don’t get stuck with the bill from Trump’s reckless agenda.”
What has he been distracted by instead? Well…

Politico: “To the large number of Americans who voted for Trump simply because they liked his economy — or wanted lower grocery and gas prices, or because they agreed with the idea of putting Americans first instead of the folly of foreign interventionism — this probably all seems like a distraction at best or a bait-and-switch at worst. And that’s something Trump world would be wise to take both seriously and literally.”

“A month after securing the White House with populist promises to working class voters, President-elect Donald Trump has chosen at least half a dozen billionaires and several other ultra-wealthy business leaders to serve in top administration roles.
“Trump’s Cabinet is on track to be one of the richest in modern history, on par only with the team of millionaires and billionaires he assembled during his first term. He’s picked billionaires to serve as commerce secretary and education secretary, and he has tapped other ultra-wealthy leaders for treasury and interior. He’s also offered noncabinet positions, including NASA director and deputy defense secretary, to billionaires.”
