No, President Biden is not responsible for the increase in gas prices:

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “Editorial: Pain at the pumps is real, but the pandemic and Russia caused it, not Biden”

CNN: “Contrary to claims from Trump and other Republicans, Biden has not ‘shut down’ American energy… And experts say it is economic factors and cautionary pressures from Wall Street, not anything Biden has done, that has made US oil companies reluctant to dramatically ramp up production from current levels.”

Slate: “Republicans say the White House is responsible for high gas prices. That’s ridiculous.”

In fact, President Biden has taken critical action to lower gas prices and ease the financial burden on American families:
