Trump: ‘If You’re Innocent, Why Are You Taking the Fifth?’

Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn will reportedly invoke his Fifth Amendment right to protect from self-incrimination and refuse to provide documents or testimony requested by the Senate Intelligence Committee investigating possible meddling between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

Trump previously declared that only people who are guilty invoke the Fifth Amendment.

Trump: “So there are five of them taking the Fifth Amendment, like you see on the mob, right?  The mob takes the Fifth Amendment. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

Still, Trump continues to defend Flynn in the fallout of his firing, saying “what he did wasn’t wrong.”
