Trump Says Coronavirus Will ‘Just Disappear’ As It Surges To Record Highs

Trump continues to downplay the crisis by claiming coronavirus will disappear and that everything is being handled, despite the virus surging more than ever.

Trump said yesterday that coronavirus will “just disappear” and today he claimed “the crisis is being handled” — but it’s not.

TRUMP: “I think we’re going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think that at some point that’s going to, sort of, just disappear.”

TRUMP: “The crisis is being handled.”

New cases topped 50,000 again today to hit another single-day record high, and surged overall by nearly 50 percent in June.

Associated Press: “The number of confirmed coronavirus cases per day in the U.S. climbed to an all-time high of more than 50,000 on Thursday, with the infection curve rising in 40 out of 50 states in a reversal that has largely spared only the Northeast.”

Washington Post: “Coronavirus infections in the United States surged nearly 50 percent in June as states relaxed quarantine rules and tried to reopen their economies, data compiled Wednesday showed, and several states moved to reimpose restrictions on bars and recreation.”
