Trump Wants Americans To Live With His Coronavirus Failures

Trump has given up on fighting the coronavirus. Instead, he keeps lying to cover up for his failures and is hoping that people will eventually go numb as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continue to hit new records in states across the country.

The U.S. hit a new record for the seven-day average case total and over a dozen states saw single-day record highs last week.

Washington Post: “Seven-day average case total in the U.S. sets record for 27th straight day”

Axios: “At least 15 states broke their single-day novel coronavirus infection records this week, according to state health department data reviewed by Axios.”

The number of new cases is increasing faster than tests completed, which means Trump is wrong that the rise in cases is due to increased testing.

Axios: “The United States’ alarming rise in coronavirus cases isn’t due to increased testing — particularly not where cases have grown fastest over the last month. … The big picture: The number of tests completed in the United States is going up, which is a good thing. But the number of new cases is increasing faster.”

States are setting records in hospitalizations, and hospitals could soon be overwhelmed, as Trump lies that 99% of cases are “totally harmless.”

TRUMP: “Now we have tested almost 40 million people … by so doing, we show cases 99 percent of which are totally harmless.”

Washington Post: “Rush to reopen led to spikes in cases that threaten to overwhelm hospitals in some states, officials say”

Washington Post: “Patients suffering from covid-19 are rapidly filling hospitals across the South and West, with Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada and Arizona setting records for hospitalizations Thursday, a sign that the coronavirus pandemic is entering a dangerous new phase.”

Trump says his strategy is moving along well, but he’s given up. His only strategy is to hope people will go numb to an escalating death toll and new cases.

TRUMP: “Our strategy is moving along well.”

Washington Post: “White House officials also hope Americans will grow numb to the escalating death toll and learn to accept tens of thousands of new cases a day, according to three people familiar with the White House’s thinking, who requested anonymity to reveal internal deliberations.”
