Trump Was ‘Lying Through His Teeth’ At His Town Hall That Left Voters ‘Fuming’

The reviews are in, and Trump’s town hall was a major flop. When confronted by voters, Trump lied through his teeth, refused to answer questions, and failed to meet the moment. Don’t take our word for it, listen to the voters who asked the questions.

Voters who asked questions at the town hall, including one that voted for Trump, said he didn’t answer their questions and lied through his teeth.

Carl Day, who asked about the implication of Trump’s MAGA slogan for many Black Americans: “I don’t feel like he adequately answered it, but essentially in doing so, he actually did.”

Paul Tubiana, a Trump voter who asked why Trump threw people like him under the bus with his coronavirus response: “He didn’t answer anything. He was lying through his teeth.”

One undecided voter was left fuming after Trump didn’t answer her question and said he reanimated her to vote for Biden.

Ellesia Blaque, an undecided voter who asked about preexisting condition protections: “‘He didn’t answer my question,’ Blaque said. She said she left the event fuming — but resolved to do something about it. Going into the town hall, she said, she was ‘on the fence’ about voting at all in 2020. That’s why she qualified as an uncommitted voter by ABC’s standard. But now, she said, ‘I’m going to vote for Biden.’ Trump ‘reanimated me to vote.’”

Trump fumbled during his town hall and failed to meet the moment when confronted by undecided voters.

CNN: “President Donald Trump faced life outside his own political bubble on Tuesday, where his self-congratulation, buck passing and audacious falsehoods conspicuously failed to meet the moment when he was confronted by undecided voters.”

Instead of addressing the voters’ concerns, Trump lied over and over again and continued to downplay the pandemic.

Washington Post: “Trump’s ABC News town hall: Four Pinocchios, over and over again”

New York Times: “President Trump denied on Tuesday that he downplayed the threat of the coronavirus that has taken more than 195,000 lives in the United States, directly contradicting his own recorded words in which he admitted doing exactly that. And then he proceeded to downplay the pandemic even further.”
