Trump Was Not “There” With Law Enforcement on 9/11 – He Took Advantage of the Tragedy

Today when speaking in front of law enforcement officials, Trump said that he “was there” on 9/11.
TRUMP: “When [New York’s finest] gave their lives on 9/11, I was there….”
Trump was in New York…. trying to take advantage of the tragedy to benefit himself.
He bragged that his building had become the tallest in Lower Manhattan…
Washington Post: “On 9/11, Trump noted that he now owned the financial district’s tallest building”
He collected a recovery grant intended to help small businesses hurt by the attack…

He spread a conspiracy theory, saying he saw “thousands” of Muslims celebrating on 9/11…

He worried about how much the rent would drop in his own skyscraper…
TRUMP: “When you see pictures of people on fire jumping off the building when the World Trade Center was hit, you think: ‘This may be hard to rent.”
He promised to donate $10,000 to the Twin Towers Fund after 9/11, but records show he did no such thing…
