Trump’s Speech Worsened His Disastrous Response To Coronavirus

Trump’s coronavirus response has been an unmitigated disaster, and his speech last night only made things worse. Beyond being riddled with errors and falsehoods, which the White House immediately had to walk back, it failed to address the key issues — like testing and mitigation — and instead tried to shift blame to China and Europe.
In times of crisis, presidents are expected to rise to the occasion and rally the American people. Trump tried to do that last night. Not only did he fail, but he actually made matters worse.
