Trump’s Talking Heads Can’t Spin His Broken Promises to Nevada

Ahead of Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle’s appearance in Las Vegas today, Democratic National Committee spokesperson John Weber released the following statement:

“Time and again, Donald Trump promised to protect working Nevadans’ hard-earned health care and retirement benefits. Instead, he’s attempting to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Trump’s campaign can’t spin that failed legacy. Nevadans saw through Trump’s empty rhetoric in 2016, and they’re mobilizing in every corner of the state to reject his broken promises in November.”

BACKGROUND ON TRUMP’S BROKEN PROMISES TO NEVADA

Promise: “I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid.”

Promise “We will protect Medicare, and we will protect your Social Security.”

Promise: “We will not be touching your Social Security or Medicare in Fiscal 2021 Budget.”

Reality: Trump proposed cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. More than 300,000 Nevadans rely on their hard-earned Medicare benefits, and one out of every three Nevada children receives their health care through Medicaid.
