Wanda Sykes Encourages Pennsylvania Voters to Make a Plan and Vote Early in New Digital Ad

New 60 second spot reminds Pennsylvanians to use secrecy envelope and sign their ballot if voting by mail

Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes and the Democratic National Committee today are launching a new ad in Pennsylvania, “Wanda Sykes is here to help make sure your ballot is correct!,” to encourage Keystone State voters to make a plan to vote in the manner they feel most comfortable — and to ensure that they use both the smaller secrecy envelope and larger return envelope if voting by mail.

The sixty-second digital ad, narrated by Sykes as she fills out a mail-in ballot of her own, walks voters through the step-by-step process of making a plan to vote and filling out a mail-in ballot if they so choose and includes Sykes sealing her ballot within the provided secrecy envelope, which is required for the vote to count. The ad also directs voters to go to IWillVote.com/PA to make a plan to vote.

The ad will reach voters on digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Hulu and Youtube.

Today’s ad is the latest step taken by the DNC, Biden for President Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, and other groups to educate voters about how to easily return their vote-by-mail ballot and ensure their vote is counted. Two weeks ago, the DNC released a broadcast TV ad in the Philadelphia market, “Secrecy Envelope” that also educated voters on mail ballots. The education campaign has also included regular voter education events, direct voter outreach, additional digital ads and a robust social media campaign featuring photos and videos of elected officials and local leaders completing the steps to return their mail ballots.

Additionally, The DNC and Biden campaign recently rolled out new features on IWillVote.com that help voters easily request and return their ballot by mail, as well as learn important information about the voting process in their state as they make their plan to vote. The site is also completely accessible in Spanish at VoyaVotar.com.
