WATCH: Pro-Putin Republicans Strike Again

Ever since Russia launched unprovoked attacks on Ukraine, it’s been evident that the Republican Party has a growing pro-Putin, anti-Ukraine wing. In the latest example of this trend, Republican Senator Rand Paul used a Senate hearing to echo President Putin’s unhinged argument for the unprovoked war against Ukraine.
WATCH:

Senator Rand Paul: “The countries that have been attacked, Georgia and Ukraine, were part of the Soviet Union … since the 1920s.”
This isn’t the first time Senator Rand Paul or Senate Republicans have stood on the side of Putin’s interests and blocked efforts to stand up to Russia:

Washington Post: “More than two dozen Senate Republicans demand Biden do more for Ukraine after voting against $13.6 billion for Ukraine”

Politico: “The idiosyncratic GOP senator is undermining his own party’s message by single-handedly delaying a revocation of normal trade relations with Russia, thereby slowing efforts to further incapacitate Russia’s economy. Paul is refusing to allow a quick vote on the bill absent a deal to narrow presidential power to enact sanctions — an ask that leaders in both parties have spurned.”
